I wonder if they have their cabs facing the opposite way because they can’t stand the high range tone you hear when they’re facing you. I know I can’t stand that fucking tone.

You are right about the j meaning a custom shop / non production model, but the guitar he is playing here is a Jackson Swee-tone.
